The following problems were encountered in the current system; students go through stress while searching for a vacant and suitable apartment. Some people pose as caretakers which they are not in some apartments, through this process dupe students of their money. Students spend more on transportation and also on paying housing agents who promise to assist them in finding a comfortable apartment. The aim of this project is to develop an apartment directory system. The following objectives were met: Ensure that the students find the desired apartment from the comfort of their home with just any internet-enabled device. Ensure that the students will be safe from fraudsters and its psychological effects. Ensuring that students will save more money as will not be any need to hire the services of housing agents, and transportation. The methodology to be used is the Structured System Analysis and Design methodology. This was considered because it breaks down the project into smaller phases that can easily be managed and achieved. The tools that were used for the development of the new system are PHP for the back end, JavaScript for the front end and MYSQL for the database administration. The new system when fully implemented will reduce the burden students leaving off-campus in terms of searching for accommodation, thus making student’s big beneficiary of this project.
