Employees participation in decision making and its impact on workers performance - case study of Access Bank, Owerri

This study on the employees’ participation in decision making and its impact on workers' performance focuses on Access Bank as a case study. The study used survey design technique. The population of the study. Consisted of 135 staff of the bank while Taro Yamane formula was used to determine the sample size. Both primary and secondary sources of data were used while an 11-item structured questionnaire was the main instrument of data collection, the research questions were analyzed with simple percentage and frequency table. The major findings of the study were that employees' participation in decision making improves their performances as well as their management and when they are allowed to make decisions they fell regarded since the decisions were admitted from the top management. It was concluded that for an organization to perform well, decision-making process must not be left in the hands of the top management rather subordinates' initiatives should be considered to make the decisions effective and efficient. It was recommended that workers should be promoted at when due, increment of workers pay or salaries, provision of meal subsidies, free medical checkup, etc should be given to the employees.       ...
