The population of this study consists of 60 members of the selected cooperatives in Ehime Mbano L.G.A of Imo State. The sample size of this study was drawn by the simple random sample which was calculated using the“Taro Yamane formula”. Review of related literature was carried out to examine the contributions of various authors in this subject matter. Questionnaires were designed and distributed, while some members of the society were interviewed. Therefore, the responses obtained through the questionnaires were analyzed using tables, frequencies, and percentages. Conclusion was reached and the study recommends that: 1.The members of cooperatives and even non-members especially the youths should be educated on the fundamentals of cooperative. 2. The youth empowerment programmes of the societies should be based on the result-oriented and viable projects. 3.
