It also informed the health officers on the factors hindering the implementation in the hospital and ways management of quality data needed for decision making. Among the objectives is to assess the level of knowledge of the health care providers on electronic health records in General Hospital Maiduguri. Furthermore, examine assess the level of knowledge of the patients on electronic health records in General Hospital Maiduguri and identify the challenges associated with the implementation of electronic health records system are in General Hospital Maiduguri. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample 1313 staff of General Hospital Maiduguri, Kastina State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 307 questionnaires were distributed out of which 301 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that Government or Hospital management should create awareness programs for the health care providers and the patients to help enlighten them on the benefits of EHR. And there should be a standard policy guiding the implementation and use of EHR across the nation.
