It informed the health officers on the system of records identification in the hospital with filing methods and retention policies of the study area. Among the objectives is to identify the procedures used in processing records identification system, filing and retention in Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital. Furthermore, to establish the types of classification and filing systems used at OAUTH, Ile-Ife, Osun State and to establish the retrieval and storage mechanism used at OAUTH, Ile-ife, Osun State. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample 100 staff of OAUTH, Ile-Ife, Osun State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 100 questionnaires were distributed out of which 95 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that there should be the adoption of new methods of filing system should be introduced and workers trained on how to use it and this improves efficiency and saves time when retrieving records, integrating ICT- Technology in records management and also regular training on ICT usage in records management, regular renovation of storage materials such as shelves cabinets and others in order to increase the life span of stored records.
