The study adopted descriptive survey. Secondary data on reported cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria (National Center for Disease Control) as well as literacy rate (National Bureau of Statistics) for the period of 2020-2021. The study data were analyzed using simple line charts and simple descriptive statistics such as mean, median, standard deviation and standard error. The result of the study a mean confirmed cases 2,042, for death, the mean of 30. The expected number of individuals vaccinated in a Northern state of Nigeria is about 41,859 with a variation of about 3000 individuals across the states. The evaluation of the literacy rate shows a mean literacy rate of 29.3% of the Northern states studies. Confirmed cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in these states are highest in Plateau state and vaccination is most in Gombe state.
