Data was collected from 148 respondents which included students from secondary schools within the study area using research questionnaires. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that there is a significantly higher knowledge of oral hygiene among students in the study area (X2 (df 2) 36.15, p.001), and that knowledge (0.105422) of oral hygiene and practice (0.3806) affects the oral health of the respondents in the research. Factors such as lack of availability of brushing materials (-0.315837), negligence of oral hygiene by the students (-0.0746), poor knowledge of oral hygiene by the parents (-0.08426), negligence of oral hygiene education by the parents (-0.1029) and poor economic background of the students (-0.4122461) affects the implementation and practices of oral hygiene among secondary students in the study area. The research concludes that there is an adequate level of knowledge on oral hygiene among secondary school students in GDSS Mallum Ardo Kola Area of Taraba State and that there is a significant relationship between the practice of oral hygiene among secondary school students in GDSS MallumArdo Kola Area of Taraba State.
