Abstract
The research was carried out to determine the use of team teaching approach for effective teaching and classroom management for basic 7– 9 Agricultural Science Students in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State. Data was collected from A sample size of 333 (students and teachers) from ten (10) schools in the study area. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency, mean and standard deviation. In particular mean scores, standard deviations, percentages and frequency distribution were used to summarize the responses and showed the magnitude of similarities and differences. The results indicated that the schools are dominated by male (54.52%) students and (73.91%) teachers while females were 45.48% (students) and 26.09% (teachers). The majority of the students were between the age of 14-17 (36.13%) 10-13 years old (34.52%) and 17years and above were 29.35% while teachers were between the age of 30-40 (39.13%) and 20-30 years old (34.78%) as well as 40-50 years old (17.39%). It was found from the research that respondents disagreed to the application of team teaching in the study area, however, are aware of the importance and benefits of team teaching and it was also shown that respondents agreed to all the classroom management skills and the importance and benefit of effective application of classroom management skills. The research concluded that there is a low application of team teaching approach in the teaching of agricultural science for basic 7– 9 Agricultural Science Students in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State....
