Abstract
This project is intended to identify compressive strength variation between concrete made by three different brands of cement using compression testing machines. The mold size is 150mmX150mm, and about twenty-seven (27) cubes were cast in the laboratory, nine cubes for each brand which is being cured in water and tested within 7 days, 14 days, and 28 days. In 7 days, Dangote cement and Bua are stronger than Ashaka as well as in 14 days. In the 28 days of curing, the concrete which is stronger and more durable amongst the three brands of cement is Dangote cement and Ashaka has less strength and durability. But has the advantage of rapid hardening after curing. Based on the research carried out, it is clear that when cement is properly selected it results in long-lasting structure because of its high strength and durability. It is recommended to clients and contractors, to use Dangote cement when constructing structures in order to achieve satisfactory strength of their structures as it proved to posses high strength than the other brands.   ...
