The study was necessary because most pharmacies do not have an automated system to enable them to keep proper records of the billing and inventory record of the stock of drugs in the pharmacy. In addition, there is no system to effectively manage the record of sales and to automatically control stock level as they are being sold. To overcome these problems, an automated system has been developed to enable the management of pharmacies to maintain proper records of billing, carry out sales and update stock levels. The benefit of the system is that it saves time and aids easy presentation of reports when needed. The software development model used is Object Oriented Analysis and Design model and the programming language used is Visual BASIC 6.0.
