It informed the health officers on the understanding of storage facilities on health information management systems in the hospital. Among the objectives is to assess the methods adopted for the management of health records library in University of Ilorin teaching hospital Ilorin, Kwara State and to identify the significance of adequate storage and maintenance of health records on patients’ care outcomes in UITH. Furthermore, to find out the challenges faced by UITH health records personnel in storage facility and service delivery. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample the staff of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 128 questionnaires were distributed out of which 128 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that that health care organizations need to take a more aggressive approach to improving the health records maintenance with utmost proper storage of health information systems in order to give out the best service delivery and also, adequate protection of health care information depends on both technical and organizational practices, government and individual should try to get enough facilities for storage and maintenance of health records.
