It informed the health officers of the importance of the appointment system as it relates to healthcare delivery in the hospital. Among the objectives is to discover the success of the appointment system in the hospital and to identify the type of appointment systems operated in ABUTH. Furthermore, to determine the level of awareness, knowledge and understanding of Health Information Officers towards the appointment system. This research use descriptive survey to sample staff of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Kaduna State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 294 questionnaires were distributed out of which 250 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that the use of a timed appointment system should be encouraged in the hospital, also government policy on the design and implementation of electronic health information that facilitates patient online booking and remote appointment systems will go a long way in ensuring an effective appointment system. Lastly, training more staff and educating the patient on the need for appointments and keeping it religious.
