It informed the health officers of the importance of the appointment system as it relates to patient waiting time in the hospital. Among the objectives is to evaluate the knowledge of the appointment system among patients of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ekiti-State and to examine the roles of healthcare providers towards reducing patients waiting time through the use of appointments in Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ekiti-State. Furthermore, to examine the effects of patients waiting time on the improvement of the quality of health service delivery in Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ekiti-State. This research use descriptive survey to sample staff of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ekiti State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 339 questionnaires were distributed out of which 339 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that the use of a timed appointment system should be encouraged in the hospital, also government policy on the design and implementation of electronic health information that facilitates patient online booking and remote appointment system will go a long way in ensuring effective appointment system.
