It informed the health officers on the understanding on the challenges affecting the implementation of a workable health insurance scheme in the hospital. Among the objectives was to identify the level of knowledge and awareness of KSHIS among civil servants in Kastina State and to identify the benefits of NHIS among the civil servants in Kastina State. Furthermore, to determine the factors limiting the successful implementation of KSHIS in General Hospital Kastina. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research uses descriptive survey to sample staff of General Hospital Kastina. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 110 questionnaires were distributed out of which 100 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that the management of health institutions should inject more financial resources into the organization in order to solve the problem of inadequate funding for the implementation of state health insurance schemes. It takes real money to acquire and maintain good healthcare management. And also capital should be injected into the provision of infrastructure and the acquisition of modern equipment that would facilitate and sustain the general health condition of their patients.
