Abstract
A descriptive research design of survey method was employed for this study. The population of the study is 92. A multistage sampling technique was used to select the respondents. The researcher structured questionnaire validated by three experts in related fields. A reliability co-efficient of r.67 was obtained through test re-test method using Cronbach Alpha correlation method. Two research questions were answered using frequency and percentages. The results revealed that: the majority are female 49 (53.3%) while the others are male 43 (46.7%) the majority are health assistants 34(36.5%), most of the respondents are Christians 51(55.4%) while others are Muslims 41 (44.6%), year of experience of majority of the respondent are 11 -15 years 27(29.3%), majority of the respondent agreed handwashing is important 90 (97.8%), the majority of the respondent believed it has particular age range it affects most 67 (72.8%), majority of the respondent agreed the use of nose mask is important while attending to patient 92 (100.0%). Levels of emergency preparedness of PHC workers toward the prevention of COVID-19 among PHC workers in Bassa LGA, Kogi State is high, levels of response of PHC workers towards the prevention of COVID-19 among primary health care centre workers in Bassa LGA, Kogi State is far above average. Thus, it was recommended that The economy must be improved to raise the living standards of Nigerians through a social investment programme, which should ultimately contribute to the reduction of other diseases that can reduce the number of people who will visit the health centers thereby reducing the numbers of those that will be attended to....
