Abstract
This research work was conducted to identify demographic, socio-economic, and cultural factors that affect Fertility differentials among women of child-bearing age in Odo Igbara community, Ekiti South West LGA, Ekiti State. It informed the health officers on the understanding of women regarding fertility issues in the community. Among the objectives was to identify the factors which have a significant effect on the fertility of the respondent in Odo Igbara community, Ekiti South West LGA, Ekiti State and to identify the health conditions which have a significant effect on the fertility of the respondent in Odo Igbara community, Ekiti South West LGA, Ekiti State. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample women in Odo Igbara community, Ekiti South West LGA, Ekiti State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 206 questionnaires were distributed out of which 206 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that it is recommended that programs should focus on creating awareness of the marriage law and the disadvantages of early marriage and large family size, emphasis also needs to be placed on messages conveyed via the mass media, addressing the advantages of small family size and family planning. And mass media can present a wider range of knowledge and lead to adopting contraception. Lastly, long-running programs focusing on increasing literacy status and wealth status are essential to improve the reproductive health status of women....
