Here we describe the design and implementation of a microcontroller-based door the door opens when any human movement is detected near the door. It detects with the help of a Passive infra¬-red sensor which detects the movement and sends a signal to the microcontroller (PIC16F88). The output signal from the microcontroller is fed to the stepper motor which is used to open and close the door, which is driven by a motor driver (TB66OO). This will go a long way in providing convenient touchless passage. The control circuit is small in size and power consumption is low. Include pre-set for keeping the door at the desired position. Incorporate backup power as a remedy for power interruption. Adequate safety measures to offer protection from a system malfunction. Equip with security functionalities.
