Several literatures were reviewed in this study to examine the means through which the industry can create room for economic development. Data were obtained using mainly primary sources through the administering of questionnaires to some strategic tourism centers in Jos of Plateau State. Results obtained from statistical analyses revealed that since the inception of the tourism industry in Plateau state, so many challenges have retarded the growth such as inadequate infrastructural services, inadequate technical advancement and lack of good security incompetence actors and political instability. Therefore, cannot exploit its potential to the fullest capacity for its expected prospects.
