The study had specific objectives which are to examine the impact of staff training on library services in public libraries in Rivers State, to find out if there is a relationship between staff training and library services in public libraries in Rivers State, know if library staff is adequately trained and to Identify the factors that contribute to effective staff training in public libraries in Rivers State. This study adopted the descriptive survey research design. For effective analysis of the topic, data were collected only from primary and secondary sources. The study concluded that staff development and library service in public libraries have contributed to improving staff knowledge, qualification and efficiency with a view to making one more proficient in job performance.
