The data for the study were extracted from annual reports and accounts of seven sampled companies and the Factbooks of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Descriptive statics, Pearson correlation and multiple regressions were used as techniques for data analysis. The study established an insignificant relationship between corporate social responsibility and tax avoidance. Based on the findings of the study, it is concluded that the practices of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by the Nigerian Oil and Gas Companies have not been managed in such a way to minimize their tax liabilities.
