This research aims to address the low number of successful restaurants in Katsina metropolis, which often face liquidation due to a lack of customer patronage. The study seeks to identify the problems faced by these restaurants and propose solutions to overcome them. The objectives of the research include determining the types of customers who patronize selected restaurants, identifying obstacles and problems that hinder customer patronage, examining the food and drinks served in these establishments, analyzing the marketing strategies employed by the restaurants, and identifying common reasons for restaurant failures. The research suggests that restaurant businesses fail primarily due to factors such as untrained staff, poor standards, ineffective marketing, lack of awareness, and inadequate sales promotion. To address these issues, the researchers recommend that restaurant owners focus on preparing and serving hygienic food, creating public awareness, implementing effective marketing strategies, conducting sales promotions, hiring well-trained staff, and maintaining high standards and attractive interior decoration. The study believes that its findings will greatly benefit the assessment of restaurant patronage in Katsina metropolis and serve as a guide for prospective restaurant owners. Several recommendations are provided to improve patronage, including meeting all legal and health requirements before starting the business, ensuring high-quality food and service, maintaining attractive exteriors and interiors, practicing cleanliness and hygiene, standardizing local dishes to enhance their appeal, encouraging government support for the development of the restaurant industry, and ensuring that restaurant owners have a good understanding of menu items, their flavors, and suitable complements. Overall, the research emphasizes the importance of addressing various challenges faced by restaurants in Katsina metropolis in order to enhance their chances of success and increase customer patronage....
