Carried out in Gilead Children Hospital Abagana, Anambra state. It was also designed to identify the major causes, effects, prevention and control of threatened abortion among childbearing mothers. The research design used is survey design and the sample and sampling techniques used are purposive sampling techniques for this work. The total population size is one hundred and ten (110). The instrument for data collection was questionnaires. Data collected was analyzed using frequency distribution table, percentage and mean deviation. The data gathered shows that among childbearing mothers in Gilead Children Hospital, the causes of threatened abortion include emotional or psychological stress, traumatic life events, history of mental health disorder (depression, anxiety), infections and the effects of threatened abortion including physical complication such as bleeding and infection, impact on overall wellbeing and quality life of the mothers, strain relationships with partners or family members.
