However, most facilities still use paper records or a combination, feeling manual methods are more convenient and efficient for patient registration and documentation. Research Design: A descriptive survey examined health information managers'''' attitudes and perceptions towards converting from manual to electronic medical records at a teaching hospital. Objectives included identifying influencing factors and utilization challenges. Methodology: 57 licensed health information managers with 5+ years of experience at the facility completed a semi-structured self-administered questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, frequency distributions, percentage counts, and chi-square tests analyzed data. Findings: Respondents had very positive EMR attitudes and perceptions, with total EMR acceptance and preference over manual methods for positively affecting their work. Influencing factors included lack of computer literacy skills (XX%), power failure risk (XX%), and poor network (XX%).
