Abstract
Efficacy of Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems and Fund Accessibility Amidst the COVID-19 Lockdown in Nigeria. The COVID-19 pandemic triggered a global health crisis, disrupting various aspects of daily life, including financial transactions. This study investigates the efficacy of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and the accessibility of funds during the COVID-19 lockdown in Nigeria. It explores the extent to which POS systems contributed to financial transactions, addressing challenges faced by individuals and businesses in accessing funds. A cross-sectional research design was employed, utilizing purposive sampling to gather data from a diverse group of respondents in Nigeria. A structured questionnaire, incorporating Likert-scale questions, was designed to assess the effectiveness of POS systems and challenges related to fund accessibility during the lockdown. Socio-demographic information, including age, gender, income, and education, was also collected. Statistical analyses, including t-tests, chi-square tests, and correlation analyses, were applied to interpret the data. The study reveals a significant mean score for POS system utilization (15.85 out of 20), emphasizing their importance during the lockdown. Financial challenges significantly impacted overall financial well-being (?²= 31.293, p= .001). Correlation analyses highlight strong associations between socio-demographic, economic, and situational factors and POS system utilization. This research provides insights into the efficacy of POS systems and fund accessibility in Nigeria during the COVID-19 lockdown. The findings underscore the critical role of digital financial solutions in ensuring continued financial transactions in challenging circumstances. Policymakers, businesses, and researchers can utilize these insights to enhance financial resilience and inclusivity....
