The composite adsorbent is synthesized by integrating aluminum oxide nanoparticles with sawdust, a biowaste material, to leverage the high surface area and catalytic properties of the nanoparticles alongside the abundant, renewable nature of sawdust. The study employs AAS and FTIR Spectroscopy in the characterization of the effluent to determine the effectiveness of the adsorbent. Batch adsorption experiments are conducted to evaluate the removal efficiency of iron from wastewater solutions. Results demonstrate that the aluminum oxide nanoparticles-sawdust composite exhibits superior heavy metal uptake compared to individual components and conventional adsorbents, highlighting its potential as a highly effective, sustainable solution for industrial effluent treatment.
