Abstract
Needle stick injury is a percutaneous piercing of the skin typically caused by a needle point. The research aimed at assessing the level of anxiety associated with needle stick injury among Health Workers of Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Kano when rendering care to the patient. The research conducted will be beneficial to the patient, Health workers, Hospital management and the government. The study adopted descriptive survey research method. The target population used in this research work covers 86 health workers in IDH Kano and sampling was employed and 50 health workers were sampled and used.  The instrument used for data collection was structured questionnaires formulated using Likert-scale format consisting of 2 section (A&B) based on research questions that guided the study.  The data collected was analyzed using mean statistics and percentages. The findings of the study show that Health workers of IDH have high level of anxiety associated with needle stick injury, but their anxiety will be relieved if the Hospital management provides them with safe needle devices, training on preventive measures and also provision of free post-prophylaxis services....
