Drug abuse is a prevalent issue that affects students across various educational institutions, influencing their academic, social, and psychological well-being. This research explores how the misuse of substances such as alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs, and cigarettes negatively affects students'' focus, memory, concentration, and overall academic performance. The study employed a descriptive survey research design, using a sample size of 100 students, which was determined using Yaro’s formula. Data were collected through a well-structured questionnaire, and the findings were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results revealed a significant correlation between drug abuse and poor academic performance, highlighting that students who engaged in drug use exhibited lower levels of concentration, poor attendance, and reduced motivation. Furthermore, the study found that drug abuse led to social consequences, such as isolation, peer conflicts, and a negative impact on interpersonal relationships. The study recommends increased awareness campaigns, counseling services, and the implementation of more effective drug abuse prevention programs on campus.
