Abstract
Weeding frequency significantly impacts groundnut production. This study investigated the effects of different weeding frequencies on the growth and yield of groundnut. Four treatments were applied: no weeding (T1), weeding once (T2), weeding two times (T3), and weeding three times (T4). The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with three replications. A field experiment was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm, Federal Polytechnic, Bali, Taraba State, Bali Local Government Area, with a Bed size of 4m x 2m, Plant population per bed is 54 plants, with a  Spacing of 30cm x 10cm,and the Plot size is 21m². The parameters on which data were gathered are plant height, leaf area, number of branches, pod weight per plant, seed weight per plot and seed weight per hectare. A simple descriptive bar chart was used with the help of Microsoft Excel.  Results showed that T3 recorded the highest values for plant height, leaf area, number of branches, pod weight per plant, and seed weight per plot and hectare. T1 had the lowest values for all parameters. T4 consistently ranked third in seed weight per plot and hectare. The study recommends weeding two times as a best practice for optimal groundnut yield....
