Abstract
This research examines the impact of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) on community development in Nigeria, with a specific focus on Kano State. The study investigates how the efficient collection, management, and utilization of IGR contribute to the provision of essential infrastructure and social services within communities. Through a combination of primary data (questionnaires) and secondary data (existing records), the research analyzes the relationship between local government revenue performance and developmental outcomes such as education, healthcare, and road construction. Findings indicate that while IGR holds significant potential to foster sustainable development, its effectiveness is often undermined by poor revenue collection systems, lack of transparency, and weak institutional frameworks. The study recommends improved governance, transparency in resource allocation, and the empowerment of local governments to enhance IGR generation and utilization for meaningful community development....
