A total of 150 blood samples were randomly collected from students aged 17-25 years. Blood samples were collected and RDTs were carried out. In addition, structured questionnaires were administered to the same students whose blood was being screened. The result showed that a total of 110 (74%) students, made up of 50 males and 60 females, were. Malaria is the most prevalent infectious disease in sub-Saharan Africa and the study area and is known to inflict tremendous adverse effects on the physical, social and economic well-being of households and mortality is predominantly among children aged five years and below. Hence, effective control measures against the debilitating disease and its associates are, however, advocated. To this end, the following recommendations were made: Students should take regular checkups for the presence of malaria infection so that appropriate measures can be taken to prevent the complications of malaria in Students.
