Abstract
This study examines the essence of procurement and stores activities in educational institutions, using the University of Ilorin as a case study. The research aims to assess how effective procurement and inventory management practices contribute to the operational efficiency and overall service delivery of academic institutions. Furthermore, the study highlights challenges such as bureaucratic delays, inadequate training, and a lack of modern inventory systems. It concludes by recommending the adoption of digital procurement tools, continuous staff development, and policy reforms to improve the effectiveness of procurement and stores functions in educational institutions. ...
