The inferiority complex of women regarding active political participation and representation constitutes the crux of this study. The issue of women''s political participation has gained salience in recent times. To this effect, increasing numbers of countries have sought to improve female representation and political participation generally. While some countries have adopted quotas as part of the electoral landscape others have formulated laws to this effect, while some have resulted to tokenism, showing little or no attention to this all-important global agenda. The work is divided into five chapters. Chapter one deals with introduction, statement of problem, aims and objectives of the study, research hypothesis, significance of the study etc. chapter two deals with literature review while chapter three talks about research methodology. Chapter contains data presentation and analysis, the final chapter contains summary, conclusion and recommendations.
