The study employed a descriptive survey research design, with a sample of 23 library staff selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings reveal that public libraries play a crucial role in promoting literacy and education, providing access to information, supporting workforce development, and fostering civic engagement. Despite facing challenges such as funding constraints and technological advancements, public libraries can overcome these obstacles by adopting strategies like enhancing digital services, developing community-specific programming, and investing in staff development. The study concludes that public libraries are critical institutions that cater to the diverse needs of their communities, and recommends prioritizing staff development, adopting innovative technologies, and fostering community engagement and outreach.
