The scope of this study provides a comprehensive understanding of how autocratic, democratic and laissez-faire leadership styles shape organizational outcomes. This study was anchored on the Trait Theories, Behavioral Theories and Transformational& Transactional Leadership Theories. This study adopted a descriptive survey research designwhich facilitated obtaining first-hand information from respondents, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of how leadership styles impact organizational performance in workers in Chicason industry, Nnewi, with data of a total number of 5,753 workers gotten from the Office of the Payroll department, Chicason Company. A sample size of 374 respondents was selected using a stratified random sampling technique, which was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula. A pilot test was conducted among 20 respondents from a similar organizational setting. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used for data analysis to ensure accuracy and efficiency in interpretation. The findings revealed a strong preference for democratic leadership, with employees overwhelmingly appreciating its role in fostering team participation, open communication, job satisfaction and collaboration. In contrast, autocratic and laissez-faire leadership styles were perceived negatively. Laissez-faire leadership is seen as detrimental, leading to a lack of direction and accountability, which negatively impacts organizational performance. The negative perceptions of autocratic and laissez-faire styles suggest that employees value clear direction and involvement, which are essential for maintaining high levels of commitment and performance.
