Abstract
The increasing demand for efficient water management in both domestic and industrial applications has led to the need for automated solutions that reduce human intervention and water wastage. This project presents the design and construction of an automatic water control unit using a float switch mechanism. The system is built around an Arduino Nano microcontroller, which serves as the central processing unit. It receives inputs from a float switch to determine the water level in a tank and subsequently controls output components such as relays, buzzers, and an LCD display. When the water level falls below or rises above predetermined thresholds, the system automatically activates or deactivates a water pump, and in critical cases, triggers an alarm to alert the user. The hardware implementation includes a 12V power adapter, a buck converter for voltage regulation, a relay for pump control, and an LCD module with an I2C interface for real-time feedback. The design ensures low power consumption, simplicity, and reliability in operation. Testing of the prototype demonstrated effective automatic water level regulation, elimination of overflow and dry-run scenarios, and clear visual and audible alerts. This project offers a cost-effective, user-friendly, and energy-efficient solution to common water management problems, and provides a foundation for future upgrades such as IoT-based remote monitoring and control....
