The career advancement of secretaries within organizations is a topic of significant interest and concern, given the vital role they play in supporting the efficient functioning of workplaces. While secretarial positions are essential for organizational success, individuals in these roles often encounter various challenges that hinder their professional growth and progression within the hierarchy. Addressing these challenges requires a holistic approach that addresses professional development opportunities, mentorship programs, performance evaluation and feedback and facilitates clear career pathways. Organizations can implement targeted interventions to promote equitable career advancement opportunities for all employees, including secretarial staff.
