The research aimed to formulate and evaluate a lip balm product that utilizes garlic oil, beeswax, shea butter, olive oil, honey, and natural colorants as primary components. The solvent extraction method using hexane was employed to extract garlic oil, which was then incorporated into various lip balm formulations. The physicochemical properties, including melting point, stability, moisture content, and color intensity, were examined. The lip balm’s performance was also tested for consumer acceptance through sensory evaluation. Results indicated that increasing beeswax concentration enhanced the melting point and firmness of the balm, while higher honey content improved moisture retention and softness. The formulation with a 1:1:1 ratio of beeswax, shea butter, and oil demonstrated optimal properties, including good spreadability and stability under room temperature conditions. The study concludes that natural ingredients such as garlic oil can effectively be utilized in lip balm formulation to produce safe, eco-friendly, and consumer-accepted cosmetic products. This contributes to sustainable cosmetic production while reducing dependence on synthetic chemicals that pose health risks....Preview Download Preview +Other Chemistry project topics and materials you might be interested in»Minerals and phytochemical analysis of watermelon seeds (Citrullus Lanatus)»Production of hair growth oil and body lotion from Pumpkin and Pawpaw seed oil»Ethanol production from cocoyam peels»Kinectic study and heavy metals removals from used engine oil treated with groundnut shells»Characteristics of humic substances from strongly acidic soil remediated and restored using humin enhanced biodegradable waste materials»Synthesis and exploration of ion nanoparticles using costus after flower extract as a reducing agent»Comparative study of physico-chemical properties and essential mineral of some fruit juice orange and tomato»Characteristics of humic substances from strongly acidic soil remediated and restored using CNB-TECH end product»Extraction and characterization of avocado seed oil»Biodiesel production using soybean oil and characterization»Production of biolubricant from Carica Papaya seed oil»Analysis of the quality of groundwater (boreholes)»Spectroscopic and phytochemical evaluation of methanolic extract of mahogany tree gum for possible biosynthetic process»Phytochemical and proximate analysis of Combretum Zenkeri Ubi»Biosynthesis of bark peel of aerial yam-magnesium oxide nano composites for biosensing application
