Metadata serves many important purposes, like data description, data browsing, and data transfer, and metadata has an important role in digital resource management. It is the machine understandable information to identify, locate and or describe web resources. Selection and metadata issues which surround the preservation of digital information are discussed, in particular the role of metadata in all aspects of the system design and describing how the notion of metadata. Capture data about the items in our digital collection for a variety of purposes and use that data to drive the entire system. This work discusses the layout and content of Dublin core metadata elements, how to use them in composing a complete Dublin Core metadata record, as well as how to qualify elements to support use by a wide variety of communities. The Dublin Core community recognizes that consistency in creating metadata is an important key to achieving complete retrieval and intelligible display across disparate sources of descriptive records. Inconsistent metadata effectively hides desired records, resulting in uneven, unpredictable or incomplete search results. So, it tries to apply tools that allow optimization of the use of the computer and Internet in relation to more precise information retrieval for the users, both in projects of automation of information units and in projects of implementation of digital libraries.
