Abstract
This study was on the assessment of techniques used by teachers in controlling pupils' deviant behaviors in Patigi L.G.A, Kwara state. In this study, five research questions were raised. Questionnaires were developed by the researcher, which were administered to the respondents to obtain information for the study. Five hundred and eighty-six (586) respondents were used as the sample size for the study. The information obtained from the fieldwork was analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, and mean scores. Findings from the analysis of data showed that teachers use a variety of techniques in controlling pupils' deviant habits in primary schools. Findings also showed that there are suitable rules and regulations to prevent deviant behavior among the pupils in primary schools in Patigi LGA. Equally, there is an impact of teacher, deviant behavior techniques on the academic performance of pupils in Patigi L.G.A., and finally, the administration of school rules and regulations contributes to curbing pupils' deviant behavior in primary school in Patigi LGA....
