The developed system will significantly improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the departmental administration’s work through a paperless interface to facilitate information transition, processing and storage. It would be a user-friendly and secure web-based platform that allows authorized personnel to efficiently manage departmental data and operations and enhance communication and coordination among department members through integrated messaging and notification features. Another motive of this research is to provide a means for protecting saved information, ensuring data security and user authentication to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches and provide an easily maintainable and scalable system that can adapt to future departmental needs. OSIS was developed following the Information Science design paradigm, Software Engineering techniques and Computer-Human Interaction guidelines. It is a well-designed object-oriented application. I also used Financial Support Monitor (FSM), which is a tool to monitor student financial support history and support different departmental procedures. In terms of DBMS, I chose MySQL, which is one of the world’s most popular open source databases. About 100 tables support the production use and the web interface, which is implemented using PHP in the code. To develop a system that can be easily maintained, I applied software engineering techniques.
