The study investigated the prevalence of measles among children among children 0-9 of age in Mashegu local government area of Niger state. The research design used in this study was a descriptive research design. The sample size of the sutdy was determined at 100, a total of 100 structured questionnaire was distributed, but only 95% of them were retrieved. The data collected was analyzed and presented in tabular form using percentages. The major results of the study observed in the study area that lack of knowledge of the cause of measles accounts for 75%of children died as a result of measles. Between roughly 1855and 2005, measles has been estimated to have killed about 200 million people worldwide. Although the study area have center for immunization of measles, but still people have neglected it. Measles is a disease that can be prevented with a vaccine before infection. In conclusion, based on the study conducted in Mashegu Local Government Area, it is noted that most women are aware of immunization. Since this, the lack of talking, lack of preparing good food for their children contribute to the high mortality rate.
