Abstract
The research project is investigating the factors influencing the attitude of nurses in the accident and emergency unit of General Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State. The purpose of this study is to identify factors that influence the attitude of nurses towards research, to assess the research engagement among nurses, to examine the role of institutional support in shaping nurses towards research and to evaluate the impact of workload on nurses towards research. A descriptive and inferential statistics was used to select the participants and a non-probability sampling method was chosen to ensure that only nurses with relevant experience and exposure to research activities were selected. The presentation of data and analysis was based on the research questions. Demographic data of the respondents show that, relative to middle-aged participants, those with diploma-level educational attainment are correct about the participants' educational attainment, while the majority of the participants were female. Hypothesis say there is no significant relationship between the educational background of nurses and their attitudes towards research. This study examines the factors influencing nurses' attitudes towards research, based on findings of this study comprehensive training program to equip nurses with the necessary skills to understand and conduct and apply research findings in their daily practice. The hospital should establish dedicated research committees to provide guidance and support to nursing staff....
