The objective of the project was to develop a reliable, stable, and cost-effective power supply suitable for laboratory experiments, electronic testing, and educational applications. The system was designed using a step-down transformer to reduce the mains AC voltage, a bridge rectifier to convert AC to DC, and smoothing capacitors to minimize voltage ripple. An LM317 adjustable voltage regulator was employed to provide precise control of the output voltage, while an SA1943 power transistor was incorporated to enhance the current handling capability. A digital display was included to allow real-time monitoring of the output voltage. Performance evaluation showed that the power supply delivered a smooth and stable DC output across the entire voltage range, with minimal ripple and consistent operation under varying load conditions.
