Abstract
The social disorder, youth restiveness, aggression and destructive agitations experienced in the host Community in recent times have their roots in some aspects suffered by the people and pitiably, the companies therein are not doing enough to cushion the effects of these issues. Some shun their social responsibilities to the people and their society, leading to sharp reactions of destruction by the people, especially within the host community. The study determines the effect of corporate social responsibility on peaceful co-existence of  United Bank for Africa Nasarawa branch. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between environmental, philanthropic, ethical, and economic responsibility and peaceful co-existence of the bank. To achieve the research objectives, a total of 20 questionnaires were distributed using random sampling and all sampled questionnaires from the respondents were properly returned and used for analysis. In data analysis, this research uses the Pearson correlation coefficient (r) to analyze the respondents’ answers.  Findings from the research revealed that there is a significant relationship between environmental responsibility and peaceful co-existence in United Bank for Africa. The research also shows that philanthropic and ethical responsibility have a strong relationship with the peaceful co-existence of the bank. But on the other hand, economic responsibility also has a positive relations does not effectively affect the peaceful co-existence of the bank. The study recommends that Corporate organizations should be made to contribute meaningfully to the welfare of society, especially their host communities. Their activities must be monitored to ensure strict compliance. The study recommends that banks should make an effort to increase their commitment to social responsibility activities such as community projects and environmental protection in order to enhance their performance. Managers should see philanthropy as a way to meet minimum, intangible obligations to society. ...
