A descriptive cross-sectional design was used to obtain data from respondents who gave consent to the study. Data obtained was presented using a frequency distribution table and analysed using percentages. The result of the study indicated that 59.125% of the students have a high level of academic anxiety, 64% have a negative attitude towards it and 64.25% have inadequate knowledge of academic anxiety. This shows that generally, students expressed anxiety during examinations, which is seen as physiological, psychological and behavioural changes and abnormalities. Students should have adequate knowledge of anxiety and should be equipped with methods of adjusting to it so as to avoid negative consequences on academic performance.
