Abstract
This study examines the relevance of financial management tools to the growth of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMES) in Nigeria, using Kogi Poly Pure Water, Lokoja, as the study area.  The objectives of this study are to examine whether financial management tools can foster the growth and profitability of small and medium-scale enterprises in Nigeria, and to examine if there is relevance between knowledge of financial management and the achievement of small business goals and objectives. The study adopted a survey research design method. Data for the study were gathered from both primary and secondary sources. The population of the study is forty (40) and the sample size is thirty-six (36) using Taro Yamane's formula. The analysis was done with the use of simple percentages, and hypotheses were tested using chi-square. The findings reveal that  Financial management tools empower SMEs to streamline their financial operations, improve decision-making processes, and enhance overall business performance. However, to fully leverage these tools, SMEs must overcome significant challenges including financial literacy deficits, access to modern technology, and initial costs of adoption. The study recommends that SMEs should be encouraged to adopt digital financial management tools, including cloud-based accounting software and mobile applications, to enhance efficiency and accessibility. If adequate cash management controls are in place, this will help enhance and sustain their performance and growth. They are also encouraged to embrace financial planning and always prepare and keep adequate financial records for their daily operations so as to keep track of cash flows. This will enable them to plan for expansion and growth beyond Nigeria....
