The major objectives of this project are to examine the causes of kidnapping and to examine the relationship between agriculture and kidnapping in Kogi State. The methodology adopted in gathering data was the descriptive method and both the primary and secondary methods. The major instrument used to gather data from primary sources is the questionnaire. From a population of 213, 900 a sample size of 399 respondents was selected using the Taro Yamane formula. Findings revealed, among others, that Kidnapping poses a serious threat to agricultural development in Olamaboro Local Government Area and, by extension, Kogi State. The menace has caused widespread fear, displaced farming populations, disrupted agricultural labor supply, and undermined market access for farmers. Beyond the immediate loss of lives and property, kidnapping has long-term socio-economic consequences that threaten food security and rural livelihoods. In view of the findings, it was recommended that the government should increase the presence of security personnel, particularly in vulnerable farming communities. Establish well-equipped rural security outposts and patrol teams in Olamaboro LGA. The government should encourage community policing initiatives where trained local vigilantes work closely with the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies. Strengthen traditional institutions and community leaders to play a more active role in intelligence gathering and conflict resolution....Preview Download Preview +Other Public Administration project topics and materials you might be interested in»Impact of industrial conflict on the performance of workers in the government parastatal (a case study of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)»Human resources as a catalyst for economic growth and development in Nigeria (a case study of Abuja municipal area council) »The influence of effective personnel management practice in organization performance»Local government financial autonomy and grass root development in Nigeria (a case study of Afikpo north local government area)»Effects of delayed payment of lecturers salaries and wages on students performance»Manpower training and development as a tool for effective performance in public sector in Nigeria»The impact of poor revenue generation on the development of Local Government Areas»Fuel subsidy removal and the Nigerian economy (a case study of Abakiliki local government area, Ebonyi state) »Enhancing political stability in Nigeria through good governance ( a case study of Abia state)»Niger-Delta crisis and its impact on socio-economic development in Nigeria»Accountability and corruption in local government in Nigeria (Case study of Bonny local government area of Rivers state)»Political instability a major hindrance to effective policy implementation and good governance (a case study of Nigeria 1983 -1999)»Bureaucracy and efficiency (a case study of Enugu state civil service)»The assessment of the roles of local government towards rural development - a case study of Katcha local government area of Niger state»Impact of collective bargaining techniques on industrial relations practice (a case study of two selected firms from NUPENG and NUBIFE)
