The research method for this study is a survey; data for the study were gathered from both primary and secondary sources and the instrument for data collection from primary sources is a questionnaire. The population of the study is seventy (70), out of which sixty (60) were selected as the sample size using Taro Yamane formula. Percentage and chi-square methods were used to analyze the data collected from respondents. The findings revealed that Accounting services can provide SMEs with better management control and increase the firm’s performance. It helps private businesses to avoid business failure that can result from inadequate record-keeping and is critical for business survival. An accounting system helps private businesses to make sound decisions, and it is useful for financial management planning and controls. The study recommends that regular audits of the financial statements of various organizations will also be of great help in line with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA, 1990).
